Learn the Big Rocks theory from Steven Covey and 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

  • “Big rocks” are the most important things you want to do and should be connected to your longer term goals.

  • Pebbles are things you normally have to do day2day. 

  • Sand is the stuff you do without thinking that are time wasters. 

  • If you don’t put the big rocks in first, they hardly ever get in at all.

Make 3 lists:

1. Your Big Rocks

(truly important things

– responsibilities, family,

health, college,

relationships and life goals)

2. Your pebbles (stuff you normally do) 

3. Your sand (stuff you waste time on that isn't linked to what is important to you).

 

Get the right things done 

Now take out your phone and schedule some time in your diary over the next month when you are going to spend time on your Big Rocks. Set an alert and some repeats.
